Without a doubt the true wilderness and beauty of Scotlands landscapes have to make this country the number one destination for natural mountain biking in the World. The ‘right to roam’ access laws here have long opened up the countless glens and estates for adventure on an epic and ancient scale.
Simply breathtaking! The Cairngorms delivers for all, with family friendly routes such as the Speyside Way and the Old Logging Way. However, crank the level up to 10 and there is mountain biking of every ilk and inbetween. The ski resort of Aviemore is your gateway to explore the sinuous forest trails of Rothiemurchus. There is enough MTB in this national park for weeks, but our expertise can whittle down the options to ensure you include classics such as the Lairig Ghru, Glen Tilt, Ben Macdui and the superb riding from Braemar.
The twisting and scenic seam of single-track tarmac that delivers you to the shores of Loch Torridon and this small village, in itself is enough to have your imagination wide with adventurous anticipation. It is hard to find anywhere on this planet that fulfils the balance of eye-popping rugged wilderness with natural trail perfection. In our opinion, two of the best descents in the world are right here in Torridon. The entire North-West Highlands is crammed with epic mountain biking, however, from your Torridon base there are classics to rival anywhere. These include the Beinn Damh loop, Annat Lollipop, Applecross Peninsular, Achnashellach and many more.
Dumfries & Galloway
Often overlooked by its famous biking neighbour, this area is well worth an explore and is excellently located for stopovers on the way north or east. The real gems of mountain biking gold can be found in the local woods which are covered in natural singletrack goodness, this of course is where we come in! Combining this hidden trail network with our local knowledge will see you riding from forest to coastline and absorbing the amazing variety of terrain and stunning scenery. Not forgetting, this is also home to 5 of the 7 stanes trail centres of Mabie, Ae Forest, Dalbeattie, Kirroughtree and Glentrool which we also have indepth knowledge on for all levels of riders.
The Best of the Rest

From the sublime hills and forests of the borders to the epic wilderness of the Highlands, there are great days out for the family and challenging adventures for the experienced biker. The best of the rest is an impossible list to compile, considering the classic mountain biking in and around areas such as Glencoe, Kinlochleven, Fort William and Skye along with the unforgettable and awesome Ciaran path, Devils Staircase and Glen Affric.

So it’s Wednesday and I’m still buzzing from our long weekend in the peaks with Sean. Seriously had the best MTB experience since I took it up in the 90s. Such good laughs. Amazing mountain biking. If anyone is thinking about booking with Marmalade MTB as Nike would say “Just Do It”
Gareth / Ricksmansworth
Absolutely EPIC 3 days in the Peaks with Sean and the gang. Did the most technical gnarly riding I’ve EVER done with Seans help and guidance, always giving us a little heads up to upcoming gnarly stuff and encouraging us all to excel in whatever we was doing.
Stuart / Ricksmansworth
I’m still buzzing from my trips to the Peaks with Marmalade. Sean was a fantastic guide, driver, mechanic, drinking buddy, organiser, motivator (and probably a lot more that I’m forgetting!) More than that, it was just like riding with another member of the mob!
3 truly awesome days in the Peaks that are up there with the best I’ve had, on and off the bike. Won’t hesitate to book with Sean again and already plotting the next adventure!
